President Xi Jinping to Pay State Visit to Cambodia on April 17–18

PHNOM PENH, April 10 – At the invitation of His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni, President Xi Jinping of the People’s Republic of China will undertake a state visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia from April 17 to 18, 2025, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation announced today.

During his visit, President Xi is scheduled to be granted separate Royal Audiences with His Majesty the King and Her Majesty Queen-Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk at the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh.

He will also hold high-level meetings with Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate, and Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia. The leaders are expected to discuss ways to deepen Cambodia–China bilateral relations and exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Described as a milestone in diplomatic ties, the visit is expected to further strengthen the longstanding friendship and elevate the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries. It builds upon the foundations laid by successive leaders of both nations and reflects their shared commitment to advancing cooperation across various sectors.

According to the Ministry, numerous bilateral agreements are expected to be signed during the visit, expanding cooperation in many areas.

President Xi’s upcoming visit marks another chapter in the close and enduring relationship between Cambodia and China, often described by both sides as an “ironclad friendship.”
